MMario posted a new pattern for us to test knit on Friday, 8/8/08. It is the Benden WeyrHold Shawl, designed for fingering to sport weight yarn. I started a new project today and joined a new KAL. The KAL is "Seasons of Lace." This is a KAL where you choose the pattern(s) that you want to knit with the yarn(s) you want to use. I'll start with Vkandis Sunlord. I'm on row 96 out of 318, plus an optional knitted on border that is done over about 1300 stitches. Had to rip back to the lifeline at the end of Hint 1 on the Secret of the Stole :( I will get it back on the needles and work on it again. I have finally gotten the pattern for the Stormy Morning Shawl written!! This is a shawl that is designed for chunky to bulky weight yarn, so that it is nice and warm. It is an easy pattern and makes a modified triangle shawl. This is what the shawl looks like unblocked and a close up of the lace border. I started another Evolved Baby Sweater last night, got the body done, now to cast on and do the bodice. I was working on the Dumb Baby Sweater and discovered I had made several major mistakes. :( I was getting frustrated with it already and that just made me decide to rip it all out and do something else with the yarn. We spent the weekend on starting to layout and level walks and patios around the house. We are using landscape timbers for the frame and then filling them with roadbase, a rock/sand mixture that packs down and forms a hard base, then we will put fancy rock on top. I finished the sleeves on the Dumb Baby Sweater. Got the body back on the needle and started working on it again. Last night I cast on the Dumb Baby Sweater from _Knitting in Plain English_ by Maggie Righetti. It is one of the intermediate lessons. My ex husband gave me some of Brown Sheep's Wildfoote Handpaint sock yarn for Mother's Day. I got 2 skiens each of the "Rock and Roll" and "Bluegrass" colorways.
